NOTTINGHAM FOREST SIGNS NIGERIAN DEFENDER OLA AINA ON A FREE TRANSFER

Nottingham Forest has made a promising move in the transfer market by signing Nigerian defender Ola Aina on a free transfer. The 25-year-old left-back joins the newly-promoted Premier League side after his contract with Italian club Torino expired at the end of last season.

Aina brings considerable experience to the Forest squad, having represented Nigeria at the senior level with 29 appearances for the Super Eagles since his debut in 2017. He has previously played for well-known clubs such as Chelsea, Hull City, and Fulham.

Forest manager Steve Cooper expressed his delight at the new acquisition, stating that they had been monitoring Aina for some time and are thrilled to have him on board. Cooper highlighted Aina's versatility as a key asset, being capable of playing as both a left-back and right-back, thus adding quality and depth to the squad.

Described as a good athlete with impressive pace and technical skills, Aina's playing style perfectly aligns with Forest's strategic approach. The club looks forward to working with him as they embark on their Premier League journey.

As Nottingham Forest's first signing of the summer transfer window, Aina's addition signifies the club's determination to strengthen their lineup for the challenges ahead. With rumors of their interest in Manchester United's Dean Henderson, Forest is making calculated moves to further solidify their squad.

Following their triumphant Championship title win last season, securing their promotion to the Premier League, Nottingham Forest is poised to compete with top-flight teams. Their Premier League campaign will kick off against Newcastle United on August 6, marking an exciting new chapter for the club.
