Voters await results in Guinea-Bissau

Voters in Guinea-Bissau are awaiting the results of the country's legislative elections, which were held on June 5, 2023. The elections were the first since a coup attempt in February 2022 led to the dissolution of the National Assembly.

A total of 13 political parties contested the elections, with the ruling PAIGC party facing a strong challenge from the PRS party. The PAIGC has been in power for most of Guinea-Bissau's independent history, but it has faced increasing criticism in recent years for its handling of the economy and the country's security situation.

The results of the elections are expected to be announced on Tuesday. The outcome of the elections will have a significant impact on the future of Guinea-Bissau.
