Chelsea appoint Mauricio Pochettino as new manager in bid to rebuild

Yes, Chelsea announced on Monday that they have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager. Pochettino, 51, has been out of work since being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain in July 2022. He will sign a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Pochettino is a former Tottenham Hotspur manager and is known for his attacking style of play. He led Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019.

Chelsea are looking to rebuild after a disappointing season in which they finished 12th in the Premier League. Pochettino will be tasked with getting the team back to challenging for trophies.

In a statement, Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said: "We are delighted to welcome Mauricio to Chelsea. He is one of the most successful coaches in the world and his track record speaks for itself. We are confident that he will bring his unique style of play and leadership to Chelsea and help us achieve our long-term goals."

Pochettino said: "I am delighted to be joining Chelsea. It is a club with a rich history and a strong vision for the future. I am excited to work with the team and help them achieve their goals."

Pochettino's appointment is a major coup for Chelsea and he will be expected to make an immediate impact. He has a proven track record of success in the Premier League and he will be looking to lead Chelsea back to the top of the table.
